Connectors are at the heart of all interconnect systems. A connector’s ability to conduct to specification, and isolate individual circuits is critical to a products operation.

MK’s test systems are used by many of the world’s leading connector manufacturers. They are used to test the contact resistance, Insulation resistance, dielectric strength, and capacitance of inserts and connectors. Test programs are simple to create and easy to follow. Reports are generated automatically with test results logged in the results database to enable statistical and variance analysis in batch production. Our special projects team are able to deliver specific test jigs and fixtures to suit your connector product.

We are proud to include connector manufacturers such as Amphenol, Deutsch, Souriau, AB Connectors, and others amongst our customers. Connectors require careful fitting, in order to ensure they have the required level of conduction and a strong linkage with the cables or wire strands that feed into them. In many cases, it will be the connector that delivers a poor conductivity within a wiring harness or electrical assembly.

MK Test equipment will assess the integrity of connectors, checking the integrity of inserts and other individual components as necessary. The test programme checks each electrical characteristic of the connector, returning test reports that show measured values, while diagnosing any faults that enable faster rectification.

Often, a jig can be used to improve the efficiency of testing connectors. Testing can also provide an indication of the area of concern in a longer loom that has connectors, enabling faster diagnosis of any problem that is uncovered in initial testing programmes.
